The final season of Game of Thrones continued today (April 22) and while the episode itself wasn’t action packed – aside from Arya and Gendry – it sets events up for a dramatic battle next week.
The episode sees the characters preparing for the Battle of Winterfell, which will see every major player fighting for their lives against the Army of the Dead.
And because this is Game of Thrones, fans are expecting a high death toll from the violent battle, including the deaths of much-loved characters as opposed to the regular offing of bit part players that’s been the trend of late.
Over on Reddit, fans believe they’ve already worked out who will be killed off next week.
One user pointed out that Lyanna Mormont wishes Jorah good fortunes, which as we all know is basically a death sentence in Game of Thrones.
Similarly Grey Worm told Missandei ‘I’ll take you back to Naath when this is over’, so the opposite will happen.
RIP Grey Worm and Jorah. It’s been nice knowing you.
Next week’s episode will be one of the biggest television has ever seen, with Kit Harington recently confirming it took 55 nights to film.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Harington didn’t reveal much about the eighth season but did confirm the lengthy shoot knackered both the cast and crew.
He said:
I’m not sure I should tell you about it, but it was so intense we were all on the edge of killing each other.
Now, I imagine the ‘killing each other’ refers to both off- and on-screen.

The hype surrounding the Battle of Winterfell episode has been building since last year when a photo shared by assistant director Jonathan Quinlan leaked online.
Game of Thrones is known for its impressive production value, so it is understandable why HBO would want to go out with a bang, making the final episodes the biggest television has ever seen.
It was Quinlan who first revealed the team spent 55 nights filming the battle, sharing a quickly deleted photo on Instagram of a thank you card sent out to cast and crew.
It read:
This is for the Night Dragons. For enduring 55 straight nights. For enduring the cold, the snow, the rain, the mud, the sheep shit of Toome and the winds of Magheramorne.
When tens of millions of people around the world watch this episode a year from now, they won’t know how hard you worked. They won’t care how tired you were or how tough it was to do your job in sub-freezing temperatures.
They’ll just understand that they’re watching something that’s never been done before. And that’s because of you.
The card was signed by ‘The Producer Types’.
We only have a week to wait to see if the battle episode lives up to the hype.
